With 14th March marking our second Mother’s Day with restrictions in place, we want to celebrate all of the mum’s, mother figures and maternal bonds this year more than ever. There are so many mum figures that truly deserve a huge well done for their challenges of home-schooling and working from home, alongside the recognition of all that they do and have done for us. Whether we’re celebrating near or far this year, we’re aiming to make this Mother’s Day a super special one to let the leading ladies in our lives know just how much they mean to us.
Here at Jon Richard HQ, we’ve been sharing our own heart-warming mum stories, talking about what Mother’s Day means to us and how we will be making sure this year’s celebrations will be as memorable as ever. Lockdown has brought tough times to many, so this has been one of our favourite Q&A’s to lift spirits and appreciate how lucky we all really are.
Take a look at our mum appreciation posts and Mother’s Day gift inspiration guide below… tissues at the ready!

What is your favourite Mother’s Day memory?
Me and the girls (my daughters Izzy and Hattie) had taken her to the Ivy in Manchester for afternoon tea....a special treat. Little did we know that this would be our last big Mother’s Day celebration all together...
What jewellery piece will you be buying for your mum this year?
She’s Jon Richard’s biggest fan and loves our jewellery. I’ll be treating her to the biggest bunch of flowers you’ve ever seen this Mother’s Day, and a pair of our new season Pearl earrings from the Jon Richard daywear range.

What does being a mum mean to you?
Being a Mummy to Aubin means the absolute world. Aubin has special needs and faces challenges every day, his strength and courage never ceases to amaze me. He’s taught me so much and I will be forever grateful and blessed to be his Mummy.
What do you love most about your mum?
My mum has the kindest soul, with the biggest heart but most of all she’s absolutely hilarious and has us all in stitches all the time. I’ll be celebrating with mum via a video call this year! Aubin and I will celebrate out in nature on a walk, our favourite thing to do.
What is your favourite Mother’s Day memory?
My favourite memory was a lovely meal I treated mum to a few years ago, I can’t wait to go out for a meal once we can.
What jewellery piece will you be buying for your mum this year?
My Mum loves Simply Silver, I’ll be treating her to a freshwater pearl earring and necklace this year.

What do you love most about your mum?
My mum is so kind-hearted, selfless and talented. She plays piano and bass guitar, bakes like Mary Berry and loves all things arty; flower arranging, pottery, painting, macramé… the list goes on! I love that I inherited her creative flair and look forward every day to hear about what she’s been getting up to through lockdown. She’s a huge inspiration to me and is my best friend / biggest supporter! Love you mum x
What jewellery piece will you be buying for your mum this year?
Despite a brain operation and the loss of a brother, she is selfless and supportive of me, my sisters, and my wonderful cousins. The values and experiences that we share as a family, is a bond that will see us through life. She is not just my mother, she is my best friend, and I am truly lucky to have her in my life.
In the words of my mother's, mother - Be Happy, live life to the full, pray, and above all, love and support each other always <3 Xx
I love how supportive my Mum is, she’s always been so encouraging for my sister and I to follow what we really want to do. She’s such a crazy and wonderful woman to look up to, and I hope to be just as amazing as her.
How will you be celebrating Mother’s Day this year?
Despite being apart this year, I’ll be sure to send her some flowers and gifts to the door – we’ll be spending our day on a Mother’s day Zoom/Facetime.
What jewellery piece will you be buying for your mum this year?
I’ll be gifting my Mum one of the personalised pieces for sure, the fact I can get it engraved with the family initials will add the extra special touch she deserves.
