The Golden Globe Award's All-Black Dress Code For #TimesUp

• JonRichard

Last night’s Golden Globes awards saw stars stepping away from the usual plethora of bright and colourful gowns, instead choosing to dress in black as a symbol of female solidarity. The strong statement was in support of the #TimesUp movement, an initiative dedicated to fighting sexual harassment, that has been overwhelmingly supported by many of Hollywood’s biggest celebrities. As a business for women, run predominantly by women (and a handful of incredible gents), we here at Jon Richard passionately support the #MeToo and #TimesUp campaigns that have swept across social media over the last few months. Watching the sea of black gowns swarm the red carpet was an inspiring start to the year, reminding us all that if we keep fighting, we can change society's relationship with women. The empowering dress code did not cause disappointment when it came to glamour and fashion. Stars chose to embellish their all-black outfits by accessorizing with dazzling jewellery.
