BAROQUE
The Baroque jewellery trend flourished between the late 16th to early 18th Century throughout Europe. It was known for its elaborate ornamentation and intricate details. This season shows a strong comeback for the embellished jewellery in a big way. Designers have used them to accessorise feminine gowns at New York Fashion Week through regal headbands and layers of jewelled neckwear.
Statement earrings are brought into the trend through shoulder sweeping designs and brightly coloured gemstones. Mix things up with a 90s choker style full of sparkles and gems or keep it classic with a brooch. Gucci and Balenciaga have proven that there is nothing wrong with wanting to dress like a Queen. Marchesa has made this trend the focal point of their collection, whilst Alexander McQueen has added in flashes of the trend through crystal hair pieces and dramatic ear cuffs. This all creates a sense of romanticism.

Less is definitely not more with this trend, so layer up some royal colours in glass bead and transport yourself back to classic vintage Europe.
