Make it Meaningful
BUILD YOUR OWN – CREATE YOUR OWN UNIQUE STYLE
What a Gem – Add a semi-precious piece to your necklace layer
Style Icon – choose a meaningful icon or charm
Lockets, St Christopher’s and charms are another way to customise your layered look and make it as unique as you are.
Choose your Metal
The big debate for us this season is, silver, yellow or rose gold? If you’re choosing a base colour for your necklaces always go with the colour that compliments your skin tone. The general rule is that light or white metals such as silver compliment cool skin tones. Warm skin tones are enhanced by yellow and rose gold, copper and brass jewellery. Neutral skin tones, work well with both white metals and yellow metals
Go for Gold
Channel your inner goddess and choose an all gold look for a boho, eclectic & glamorous update that’s always in fashion.
Silver is a style staple, it’s classic and timeless and truly versatile for everyday wear. If you want a minimalist and discrete layered look, silver is your go to every time.
Mix your Metals
Once it was considered “wrong” to combine jewellery with contrasting metal colours, but this season there’s no guidelines so throw out that rule book and don’t be afraid to mix and match your metals. Anything goes with this look.
Take inspiration from blogger @GraceSurguy and her personalised mixed metal layering look!
Another thing to consider when layering your necklaces is the metal texture of your pendants. You can choose one uniform style through-out but don’t be afraid to mix and match finishes for a look that is bang on trend this Autumn/Winter.
Polished Metal: Best for a contemporary look, it’s truly versatile and never looks out of date.
Textured Metal Detailing: Intricate and adds an artisan twist to your necklace look.
The key to the perfect layered necklace look is choosing different lengths so that you get a cascading effect that allows each piece to stand out on its own. Start your first necklace close to the neck by choosing the shortest 14 “ inch chain length and layer your look from there. Our top tip is to invest in a chain extender so you can choose your favourite necklaces even if they aren’t the right length to complete your stacking story.
The Neat Stack:Each pendant sits in perfect symmetry and close together, the looks work best when each pendant is the same shape and is best worn with a V neck top or shirt.
Eclectic Stack:This look is about mixing and matching your pendant shapes – a bar, a round pendant and charm on your longest chain is ideal. Remember to use your chain extender if you need to play with the lengths of your necklaces.
